My definition of physical isn’t limited to what I see and touch. To this end I rebuilt the Celestial alphabet, which allows me to communicate with angels visually and sonically.

DOMINION

Dominion is a full revival of the Angelic/Celestial alphabet created by Heinrich Cornelius Agrippa in the 16th century, including a digital reconstruction of the language itself and a sonic vocabulary with unique sounds for each character. The project was the thesis project for CCA’s Fall 2019 Graphic Design class with the prompt being the word: physical.

The Angelic alphabet takes inspiration from the written languages of Hebrew and Greek, in addition to the appearance of constellations.

When translated to the Roman alphabet, certain letters are repeated: i/ j, o/q, and u/v.
