DISPLACED FILM CAMPAIGN
Matthew joined a student design studio in the Fall of 2019 called TBD* and was able to work with Youth Beat, an Oakland-based non-profit organization that gave professional training in media including TV production, photography, and animation.
"Displaced" is a documentary film directed by Youth Beat alumni Danielle Thompson and Narcelito Guinto Jr. that focuses on the rapid gentrification of Oakland and the Bay Area at large.
This project was done in collaboration with Dionne Lugue and Janga Militello.
The movie poster using the disappearance of letters to represent Bay Area residents and their families.
Custom barricade tape (with the intended use of being a protest).
Promotional flyers with more information and background. The front of the flyer uses the original poster shown to Youth Beat.
